My name is Erin Kerrison and I am currently serving as a Search Committee member working to fill a UC Berkeley Assistant (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) senate faculty position. Candidates are invited to submit applications demonstrating their suitability for a joint appointment in the School of Social Welfare and the Department of Ethnic Studies.
Specifically, we are eager to review applications from candidates with at least the following qualifications:
- an established or promising track record of research with substantial impact in the area of Native American Community Health
- direct experience working with Native American communities
- evidence of engagement with Indigenous research methodologies
- an understanding of overlaps between social welfare programs and practices, and health and wellness priorities of Native communities
- a capacity for interdisciplinary research and teaching linked to the school of Social Welfare’s specializations, and the Native American Studies area within the Ethnic Studies Department
- a PhD or equivalent international degree, or enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree program, at the time of application
